About the event

Have you ever wondered why receiving certain flowers makes you especially happy? Or why you’re naturally drawn to one flower over another?

PPW Members are invited to The Language of Flowers Workshop, hosted by Anita Buzzy Prentiss, Photographer and Landscape Consultant. Join us for a live conversation exploring the fascinating Victorian tradition of using flowers to express feelings, intentions, and messages.

For hundreds of years, flowers have been used to say things that sometimes couldn’t be spoken aloud, from love and friendship to gratitude, remembrance, hope, and even secret affection. In this presentation, we’ll explore the meanings and stories behind some of our favorite flowers and discover new ways to think about the flowers we give and receive.

You’ll leave with ideas for making the simple ritual of giving flowers even more thoughtful, personal, and meaningful because sometimes a flower says more than words can.
