A Night to Remember: Recap of Our 7th Annual International Women’s Day Celebration

Updated: Mar 18

Our 7th Annual International Women’s Day Celebration was truly an inspiring evening! I had the honor of sharing the stage with Angela Garcia, Executive Director of Global Links, where we explored how we can accelerate action for the empowerment of women and girls worldwide—and how it all begins right here at home.

Beyond the powerful conversation, the evening was filled with fabulous vendors, delicious international cuisine, and meaningful connections.

🌟 Vendor Spotlight

We were thrilled to welcome an incredible lineup of vendors, each bringing something special to the evening.

  • MaxxCole Salon and Skin Spa delighted attendees with boutique items and generous gifts.

  • Ajuana’s Hot Sauce was a hit once again—those who purchased at the holiday party eagerly returned for refills and gifts!

  • Erica Tamburo’s stunning scarves, cards, and wraps were flying off the table.

  • Leslie Sanford with Touchstone Crystal showcased beautiful jewelry—many women treated themselves and found the perfect gifts for others.

  • We were also honored to have Maria Manautou-Matos, publisher of Pittsburgh Latino Magazine, whose publication is a fantastic resource for women looking to advertise and grow their businesses.

🍽 A Global Feast

The international-themed menu was a treat! We kicked off the evening with Italian Sangria (thank you, Michelle Kinzel, for providing wine from ONE HOPE!), enjoyed a Japanese Hibachi dinner from HoShi, and indulged in French desserts featuring chocolate-covered strawberries and macarons.

🌍 Global Links: A Mission in Action

One of the highlights of the night was the behind-the-scenes tour of Global Links. Their team led three tours, showing us the massive warehouse filled with repurposed medical supplies, all meticulously organized and efficiently distributed to communities in need. It was incredible to witness the impact of their work firsthand. A special thank you to Kimberlee Love from Global Links, who welcomed everyone and invited us back for an in-depth tour and volunteer opportunities—did you know Global Links offers monthly community tours?

🎥 Exciting Media Coverage

We were also thrilled to have Kym Gable from KDKA TV News stop by with her cameraman to film a feature story! Be sure to tune in on Friday, March 15, at 5:45 PM on KDKA TV to catch the segment. Kym has always been a strong advocate for women, and we truly appreciate her continued support.

🚴‍♀️ What’s Next? Women on Wheels!

Kim Adley shared details about our first-ever Women on Wheels Adventure, happening on April 11, 2025! Mark your calendars and register below.

💡 A Night of Wisdom & Inspiration

The panel discussion was filled with valuable insights and practical wisdom, leaving everyone motivated and inspired. Will next year’s event top this one? We’ll see!

💜 Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and helped make this event so special! Until next year, let’s continue to uplift, support, and empower one another. 💜
