Pittsburgh Professional Women’s Book Club:
A Space for Connection, Growth,
and Great Conversations
Last month, we kicked off the PPW Book Club at Off Piste Wine Services & Importing—and what a night it was!
Since it was hosted at a private residence, we don’t have photos to share, but the evening was memorable. We gathered on the outdoor patio to enjoy thoughtfully prepared food, exceptional wines, great company, and of course, inspiring conversations about books.

A big thank you to my co-hosts who helped get this launched: Lori Heller, Dana Schulte, and Dominique Murray, and a special thank you to Mackenzie Check, who will be hosting our in-person book discussions!
Now, we’re excited to announce our first official gathering:
Tuesday, August 26 from 6:00–8:00 PM
The Ridge at Robinson Luxury Apartment Community
We’ll be discussing The No Club: Putting a Stop to Women’s Dead-End Work, a game-changing guide to reclaiming your time and advancing your career.
About the Book

Four Carnegie Mellon University professors—Linda Babcock, Brenda Peyser, Lise Vesterlund, and Laurie Weingart—banded together over $10 bottles of wine to tackle the invisible load that holds women back. Their research reveals how “office housekeeping” drags down productivity and stalls promotions—and offers practical steps for individual and organizational change.
Among other things, they share how to:
Say no to “non-promotable” tasks
Delegate strategically
Advocate for fairer work assignments in your organization
Whether you’ve read the book cover to cover, skimmed it, or are simply curious about the topic, come ready to share your insights and takeaways.
Here’s what to know about the Pittsburgh Professional Women Book Club:
We’re reading 3 to 4 books a year, carefully selected to inspire personal and professional growth.
This year, we’re focusing on business and leadership books. Members will vote on the selections for 2026.
The book club is open exclusively to members of Pittsburgh Professional Women.
All discussions take place in person, offering a wonderful way to connect and build relationships.
In-person book discussions are potluck. Bring your favorite drink or snack to share.
You are not required to read the entire book—or even any of it. We understand how busy life can be. If the topic interests you and you’d like to join the conversation, you are welcome.
It’s more than a book club—it’s a space for meaningful connection, fresh ideas, and encouragement among women.

The first meeting is Tuesday, August 26 from 6-8pm
The Ridge at Robinson Luxury Apartment Community
1501 Meredith Dr, Pittsburgh, PA 15205
