Let's Celebrate Pittsburgh Professional Women's Day

Today, October 16, 2024, is Pittsburgh Professional Women's Day, and I’m honored to reflect on this milestone. Four years ago today, on October 16, 2020, I was recognized by former Mayor Bill Peduto and City Council member Theresa Kail Smith for the work I’ve done through Pittsburgh Professional Women to empower women across our region. This day is a reminder of the incredible journey we’ve been on together.

In 2020, when the pandemic crisis turned life upside down, I knew our work couldn’t stop—it had to expand. So, I pivoted our in-person business workshops online, moving from monthly to weekly events to meet the growing need for support. And rather than limiting these resources to just members or women, I opened them to everyone in Western Pennsylvania.

Together, we helped people start businesses from their homes, navigate the challenges of working remotely, and manage the emotional toll of fear and grief. Offering guidance on mindset, resilience, and success became our way of helping the community through one of the toughest times in recent history.

Today there’s renewed energy and excitement in Pittsburgh Professional Women. We’ve welcomed new members and launched fresh programs, including mentoring opportunities and special rates for emerging young leaders. It’s been inspiring to see women from all walks of life come together to share knowledge, support one another, and grow—because when women succeed, our entire region benefits.

But this journey is far from over. I truly believe that when we invest in each other, we create a ripple effect of success. That's why I’m inviting you to join us as we continue this important work. Whether you’ve been considering membership or are looking for opportunities to connect, now is the perfect time. Our final events of 2024 are around the corner, designed to help you step into your power, both personally and professionally.

So, let’s celebrate today, not just as a reflection of what we’ve achieved, but as a commitment to what lies ahead. Together, we’ll continue to build a community where every woman has the tools and support she needs to thrive—on her own terms.

I hope to see you at one of our upcoming events and welcome you as part of this growing network of driven, strong women. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to join, this is it.

Here’s to lifting each other up and continuing to make a difference, together. ❤️
