Eight Years. Can You Believe It?
I can’t wait to gather with you for this year’s International Women’s Day celebration.
It feels like just yesterday I was sitting at my desk planning the very first Women’s Day event. This year, we’re celebrating together for the eighth time.
Every year has its own personality. Its own magic. Its own conversations that linger long after the evening ends.
And this year? It’s going to be special.
Let me introduce you to the remarkable panelists:
Sepi Miller
Entrepreneur | Realtor | Survivor Advocate | Founder of BYSEPI
Born in Iran, raised in a refugee camp in Germany, and later immigrating to the United States, Sepi’s life is a story of resilience, reinvention, and courage. She rebuilt her life in a new country, launched a nationally recognized clean wellness brand, and built a thriving real estate career — all while advocating for women and survivors.
She believes deeply that when women share their stories and hard-earned wisdom, they create pathways for others to rise.
Marissa Escajeda, MA, MPA
CEO, Girls Inc. of Greater Pittsburgh
Marissa became a mother as a teenager and was told her future would be limited. Instead, she rewrote the story — earning multiple graduate degrees, leading major nonprofit initiatives, and now serving as CEO of Girls Inc. of Greater Pittsburgh.
Her life’s work centers on equity, opportunity, and making sure girls see possibility no matter where they begin.
Carolina Quiroga
President, Oxford Athletic Club
Carolina brings more than 20 years of executive leadership experience in premier athletic and lifestyle clubs across the country. A former collegiate athlete and the daughter of a Colombian immigrant, she leads with heart, discipline, and a deep belief in the power of wellness and community.
Her leadership is grounded in excellence — and in helping people truly thrive.
And I’ll Be Your Moderator
For eight years now, this gathering has been one of my favorite nights of the year. As a single mom raising two boys while navigating financial and personal challenges, I learned early that women supporting women changes everything.
That belief built Pittsburgh Professional Women. And it built this event.
This Year’s Theme: Give to Gain
This theme feels especially meaningful right now. Generosity creates opportunity. Community creates momentum. And when women share what they’ve learned, everyone rises.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit Girls Inc. of Greater Pittsburgh, because supporting the next generation of strong, smart, bold leaders matters.
We are thrilled to partner with the Oxford Athletic Club for this beautiful evening of conversation, connection, and celebration. You’ll also enjoy shopping with local women-owned businesses, one of my favorite parts of the night.
✨ Invite a friend.
✨ Bring your daughter.
✨ Bring your colleague.
And if you are a woman-owned business owner and would like information about vendor tables, send me a message. I’d love to share the details.
This isn’t just another event. It’s a room full of energy, encouragement, and possibility.
I hope you’ll be in it with us.
